Translated:

More than half a millenium ago on this shore of the Lerez the caravel Santa Maria the Galician was constructed, on which Christopher Columbus, admiral from Pontevreda, changed the destiny of the world. 1993.

Annotation

This monument reflects the theory that Christopher Columbus was from Pontevedra.
