Description

Stone sculpture of a group of people dancing in hand in hand a spiral. For the lower part the figures are in relief, the higher part it are statues.

Aquest monument, obra de l'escultor Sergi MAS,
encarregat i finançat per la Comissió del Barri Antic
l'any 1977, representa el Ball de Contrapàs
d'Andorra la Vella.

El Contrapàs, que es balla per la Festa Major, és una
dansa que es fa i es desfà seguint les instruccions del
capdanser, començant sempre amb el peu esquerre.

This monument, by sculptor Sergio Mas,
commissioned and funded by the Commission of the Old Quarter
in 1977, represents the Contrapàs Dance
of Andorra la Vella.
The Contrapàs, which is danced at the Major festival, is a
dance that rolled back and forth, following the instructions
of the capdanser, always beginning with the left foot.
