Description

Corten steel sculpture showing miners in a circle, with the names Vieille Montagne and Neutral Moresnet and the coats of arms of Altenberg (Vieille Montagne) and the municipality of Kelmis (La Calamine).
Neutral Moresnet was a small Dutch-Prussian condominium that existed from 1816 to 1919 and was administered jointly by the Kingdom of the Netherlands (after 1830 by Belgium) and the Kingdom of Prussia. Kelmis (La Calamine) was the only village in this neutral territory.
