Erzengel, der Feldherr der Armee Gottes. Er wird oft dargestellt, wie er Satan – der als Drache dargestellt wird – tötet, und er trägt ein Schild mit der Aufschrift quis ut deus (Wer ist wie Gott?, eine wörtliche Übersetzung des Namens Michael).

Bronze statue of St. Michael.

Anmerkung / Annotation

The original statue by Wichmann was made of terracotta. It was replaced in 1914 by a copper copy, which was again replaced by the present bronze figure in 1986/87, made by Achim Kühn.
