Der Brunnen wurde anlässlich des 150-jährigen Jubiläums der Eröffnung des ersten Salzwasserbades (1837) in Bad Orb errichtet. Auf der zentralen Säule ist in einem spiralförmigen Relief die Geschichte von Bad Orb dargestellt. Die Säule wird von drei Jungen mit Sölekrügen gekrönt: Ludwig, Martin und Philipp symbolisieren die drei Bad Orber Heilquellen: Philippsquelle, Ludwigsquelle, und Martinusquelle. Die Säule steht in einem T-förmigen Becken. Am Rand desselben sitzt ein Mädchen mit einer Laute, das zu den Jungen hinblickt.

Fountain erected to mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of the first saltwater bathhouse (1837) in Bad Orb. The history of Bad Orb is depicted in a spiral relief on the central column. The column is crowned by three boys holding jugs of spring water: Ludwig, Martin and Philipp symbolise the three healing springs of Bad Orb: Philipp's Spring, Ludwig's Spring and Martinus' Spring. The column stands in a T-shaped basin. Seated on the rim of the basin is a girl with a lute, looking towards the boys.
