Beschreibung / Description

The monumental memorial remembers the revolutionary sailors at the end of World War I. It consists of a base with a 20-meter relief wall (designed by Reinhard Dietrich) and a 9-meter-high bronze sculpture. The memorial complex without sculpture was opened in 1970 and had an exhibition space but closed since 1985.

The memorial was in restoration when we visited Rostock, and especially the relief wall could not be sufficiently photographed.
