Justitia |
Bodo Kampmann
1956 |

Unusial depiction of Justitia without her classical attributes of blindfold, scales and sword of judgement. Instead, the figure looks at the viewer without expression, holding two small, upright people - like a pair of scales - in the hands of her arms that are bent to either side. The human figures, one of which has its arms hanging from its body, while the other has one arm crossed behind its body, are also highly stylised, eyeless and expressionless. Kampmann depicts his Justitia as the one who weighs up the fate of mankind.
