Porträtmedaillons am Bankhaus LöbbeckePortrait medallions at the Löbbecke Bank |
1892 |

The building was designed in 1892 by Constantin Uhde (1836-1905) for the Löbbecke & Co banking house. Its façade decoration is based on the Weser Renaissance repertoire of forms. The richly structured and ornamented building bears a sundial in the upper gable rectangle. A frieze shows thirteen portrait medaillons of the Löbbecke famliy. On the gable triangle, the future-oriented technical achievements of steam power and electricity appear in a victorious pose as allegories of the industrial age.
