Statues - Hither & Thither

 

Description

Nine benches with the motto Peine. 'Get on it!' on the Market Square were inaugurated on 7 May 2023. They are intended to reflect Peine's history and invite visitors and citizens to take a cosy break - they are made from original Peine steel beams and high-quality wood. Two these benches show a statue: the painter Gustav Schmidt sitting on a bench and an owl sitting on the backrest.
The Gustav Schmidt bench is also a special photo point. You can sit next to Gustav Schmidt on the bench and have your photo taken through the frame set up on an easel.

Sculptor
