Description

Sculpture with scenes from the history of the city of Bochum in the form of an ascending, leporello-like sheet of pictures folded lengthwise and crosswise.

The artist describes on his website the theme of the reliefs as:

below, geological stratification - mining, city foundation
above, opening in steep angularity - upswing of heavy industry,
above, wide-ranging development of the city - theatre, research, sport,
on the reverse side - its catastrophic destruction, bombs, rubble, the burning of the synagogue and death.
