Der in Berlin lebende Künstler erschafft vorwiegend monumentale Kopfskulpturen und ist bereits mehrfach auch in Deutschland, Istanbul, Athen, Essen, Nürnberg, ... mit seiner Kunst vertreten. Der von Tartaren abstammende Künstler hält immer Ausschau nach bedeutenden und interessanten Kirchen und Häuserensembles als Aufstellungsorte für seine Kunst.
Der heilige Dionysius schaut nach oben in den Himmel. So ist er mit allen, die an ihm vorbei in die Kirche gehen, vereint im Gebet zum himmlischen Vater, der ihm selbst im 3. Jahrhundert die Kraft gab, seinen Glauben bis in den Tod zu bekennen. Eine Reliquie des Heiligen wird im Altar der Stadtkirche verehrt.
Die Skulptur des heiligen Dionysius, der als erster Bischof von Paris von den Römern enthauptet wurde, erinnert auch daran, dass leider über die Jahrhunderte immer noch Menschen einander Leid antun. So sind die Passanten beim Blick auf den Heiligen auch eingeladen, für Frieden und Versöhnung einzutreten, um jeden Hass zu überwinden.
Der Monumentalkopf aus Granit wirkt so, als sei er soeben vom Himmel auf die Erde gefallen und wirft die Frage auf, ob er da jetzt so liegen bleibt. Diese Art moderner Kunst ist hier sicherlich in ihrer Eigenart auch eine Bereicherung für die Innenstadt von Rheine.
Vorlage für den Kopf ist die aus der Entstehungszeit der Kirche stammende Sandsteinfigur, die über dem Hauptportal und im Original in der Wort Gottes Kapelle der Dionysiuskirche zu sehen ist.

Denis sculpture at the town church

The Berlin-based artist mainly creates monumental head sculptures and has already exhibited his art several times in Germany, Istanbul, Athens, Essen, Nuremberg, ... with his art. The artist, who is of Tartar descent, is always on the lookout for important and interesting churches and house ensembles as locations for his art.
St Denis looks upwards to the heavens. He is thus united with all those who pass him in church in prayer to the heavenly Father, who gave him the strength to profess his faith even unto death in the 3rd century. A relic of the saint is venerated in the altar of the town church.
The sculpture of St Denis, who was the first bishop of Paris to be beheaded by the Romans, is also a reminder that, unfortunately, people have continued to inflict suffering on one another over the centuries. Passers-by looking at the saint are therefore also invited to stand up for peace and reconciliation in order to overcome all hatred.
The monumental granite head looks as if it has just fallen from heaven to earth and raises the question of whether it will remain there. This type of modern art is certainly an enrichment for the city centre of Rheine in its own way.
The model for the head is the sandstone figure from the time the church was built, which can be seen above the main portal and in the original in the Word of God Chapel of St Denis Church.
