Description

Stone tower with three large stone busts above the entrance (Bismarck) and above the arches at the top of the stairs (Roon and Moltke).
Otto von Bismarck as minister president and foreign minister, Albrecht von Roon as Minister of War, and Helmuth von Moltke as chief of staff of the Prussian Army, were dominating figures in Prussia's government during the key decade of the 1860s, when a series of successful wars against Denmark, Austria, and France led to German unification under Prussia's leadership.

The architect of the tower was Georg Frentzen, the busts are sculpted by Karl Krauß. (Wikipedia).

Specific type of monument built according to a more or less standard model across Germany to honour its first chancellor, Otto von Bismarck. Around 240 of these towers were built, of which some 173 remain today. The first was built in 1869 in Ober-Johnsdorf, Silesia, (now Janówek, Poland), but The vast majority of these towers were erected between Bismarck's death in 1898 and the 100th anniversary of his birth in 1915.
Often, these towers show a portrait medaillon or bust of Bismarck.
