Die keramische Vollplastik „Christus Welterlöser“ von Franz Albermann
entstand um 1929 als Aufsatz eines Denkmals für die Stifter des Freche-
ner Krankenhauses und war auf dem nahe gelegenen Friedhof platziert.
Christus wird hier als Retter der Welt, auf der Erdkugel stehend, präsen-
tiert. Die Gemeinde Frechen hatte das Denkmal beim Steinzeugwerk
„Kalscheuer“ in Auftrag gegeben.

The ceramic sculpture 'Christ Redeemer' by Franz Albermann
was created around 1929 as the centrepiece of a monument to the founders
of the Frechen hospital and was placed in the nearby cemetery.
Christ is presented here as the saviour of the world, standing on a globe.
The municipality of Frechen had commissioned the monument from the
stoneware factory 'Kalscheuer'.

Sculptor

Franz Albermann (Köln 1877 - Köln 1959), German sculptor who initially worked in Cologne and later in Frechen (Wikipedia).
