Description

An den vier Ecken des Turms der St.-Otger-Kirche (erbaut 1889-1892) stehen auf Konsolen steinerne Engelsfiguren, die auf Trompeten blasen und ein Buch in der Hand halten.
Auf einem Foto aus den 1930er Jahren sind an diesen Ecken Statuen auf den damals 102 Meter hohen Turm zu sehen. Der Turm wurde jedoch im Zweiten Weltkrieg schwer beschädigt und anschließend wieder aufgebaut, wobei seine Höhe auf 74 Meter reduziert wurde. Die Engel sind jedoch erhalten geblieben.

At the four corners of the tower of St Otger’s Church (built 1889-1892), stone statues of angels stand on corbels, blowing trumpets and holding a book in their hands.
A photograph from the 1930s shows statues on these corners of the tower, which stood 102 metres tall at the time. However, the tower was severely damaged during the Second World War and subsequently rebuilt, with its height reduced to 74 metres. However, the angels have been spared.
