SKULPTUR AUGUSTINERIN Die Skulptur wurde zum 900jährigen Ortsjubiläum des Dorfes Asbeck im Jahr 1992 im Auftrag des Heimatvereins Asbeck e.V. durch den Bildhauer Werner Bruning erstellt. 1992 feierte die Gemeinde Legden die gemeinsame Ersterwähnung der beiden Ortsteile Asbeck und Legden auf einer Urkunde aus dem Jahre 1092. Diese Bronzefigur erinnert an die Bewohnerinnen des Klosters Asbeck im 12. Jahrhundert, welche nach den Regeln des Augustinerordens lebten. Das Standbild ist ebenfalls Symbol der Grundherrschaft des Stiftes Asbeck und der Macht- fülle, welche die Äbtissin des Stiftes inne hatte. |
24. SCULPTURE OF AN AUGUSTINE NUN The sculpture was commissioned by the Asbeck Local History Society and created by the sculptor Werner Bruning to mark the 900th anniversary of the village of Asbeck in 1992. In 1992, the municipality of Legden celebrated the joint first mention of the two villages of Asbeck and Legden in a document dating from 1092. This bronze figure commemorates the inhabitants of Asbeck Convent in the 12th century, who lived according to the rules of the Augustinian Order. The statue also symbolises the manorial authority of Asbeck Abbey and the power held by the abbess of the abbey. |
