Ein Häuschen, das an einer Ecke offen gestaltet ist, sodass man hineinsehen kann. Im Inneren sind unter anderem ein Tisch, Geld und eine Flasche zu sehen, und auf dem Dachboden stehen Kanister mit Benzin. Die Skulptur bezieht sich auf ein Stück von Max Frisch (1911-1991): Herr Biedermann und die Brandstifter (Prozaskizze 1948, Hörspiel 1953, 1958 Theaterstück). Die Geschichte handelt von Gottlieb Biedermann, der Männer in sein Haus holt, von denen er weiß, dass sie Brandstifter sind. Sie schleppen sogar Benzinkanister auf seinen Dachboden. Dennoch möchte er höflich, tolerant und vor allem zuversichtlich bleiben. Er weigert sich, der Realität ins Auge zu sehen, und trägt schließlich sogar zu seinem eigenen Untergang bei.
A small house with a section cut away at one corner so that one can look inside. Among other things, the interior features a table, money and a bottle, whilst the loft contains jerry cans of petrol. The sculpture refers to a work by Max Frisch (1911-1991): Herr Biedermann und die Brandstifter, in English known as The Arsonists (Prose Sketch 1948, radio play 1953, lstage play1958). The story is about Gottlieb Biedermann, who takes men into his home whom he knows to be arsonists. They even drag petrol cans up to his attic. Yet he wants to remain polite, tolerant and, above all, reassured. He refuses to face reality and ultimately even contributes to his own downfall.

1998 schafften zahlreiche Engagierte, Unternehmer, Freunde und Förderer der Stadt Billerbeck eine künstlerische Verbindung vom Rathaus zur Freilichtbühne: Die 'Theatermeile'. Diese Meile besteht aus einem Stadtrelief und 14 künstlerischen Objekten, Plastiken und Skulpturen von Darstellungen aus der Theaterwelt.
The Theatre Mile in Billerbeck
In 1998, a large number of committed individuals, entrepreneurs, friends and supporters of the town of Billerbeck created an artistic link between the town hall and the open-air stage: the 'Theatre Mile'. This mile consists of a town relief and 14 artistic objects, sculptures and statues depicting scenes from the world of theatre.
