Die Skulptur stellt einen Schwan dar, der sich magisch in den Körper eines Mopses verwandelt hat.Der Mops hängt in einer Konstruktion, die an die Fluggeräte von Otto Lilienthal (1848-1896) erinnert. Da der Luftfahrtpionier Lilienthal eine Zeit lang im Berliner Ostend-Theater als Intendant, Schauspieler und Dramatiker tätig war, besteht eine Verbindung zum Thema Theater.

The sculpture depicts a swan that has magically transformed into a pug. The pug is suspended in a structure that references the flying machines of Otto Lilienthal (1848-1896). As the aviation pioneer Lilienthal worked for a time at Berlin’s Ostend Theatre as a director, actor and playwright, there is a link to the theme of theatre.

Die Theatermeile in Billerbeck

1998 schafften zahlreiche Engagierte, Unternehmer, Freunde und Förderer der Stadt Billerbeck eine künstlerische Verbindung vom Rathaus zur Freilichtbühne: Die 'Theatermeile'. Diese Meile besteht aus einem Stadtrelief und 14 künstlerischen Objekten, Plastiken und Skulpturen von Darstellungen aus der Theaterwelt.

The Theatre Mile in Billerbeck

In 1998, a large number of committed individuals, entrepreneurs, friends and supporters of the town of Billerbeck created an artistic link between the town hall and the open-air stage: the 'Theatre Mile'. This mile consists of a town relief and 14 artistic objects, sculptures and statues depicting scenes from the world of theatre.
