Statue of a woman in a blue dress, standing in front of a large painting.
In his article in Herzog-Magazin Mandy Geithner wrote about this statue(...) I want to know who this woman is and why or for whom she stands. But once again I am not rewarded. At least the name of the artist can be found! Was the lady his muse according to traditional ideas? No, then she would be the protagonist of the painting. She stands there with the painting as an artist! Self-confident in blue, the colour of wisdom, harmony and peace. But also the colour of longing and infinity. This woman, I believe, stands for all women! And as we know, there are enough of them, in fact they make up about half of the world's population, so I can only mention a few of them as examples. For Jülich, I quickly think of the female artists and craftswomen who once a year exhibit their unique and original work at the women's crafts market. I also think of all the female students, researchers, citizens, migrants, pupils, colleagues and neighbours of this town.
