Beschreibung / Description

Der Bismarckbrunnen besteht aus einem rechteckigen Brunnenbecken mit einem steinernen Aufbau an der Rückseite. In dessen Schmuckgiebel befindet sich ein Reliefporträt Otto von Bismarcks, darunter ein Inschrift: "Fürst Bismarck". Der Brunnen wurde 1894 errichtet zur Erinnerung an Bismarcks Jena-Besuch 1892 und dessen Rede an gleicher Stelle eingeweiht.
Im Jahr 2008 wurde der Brunnen vollständig renoviert.

The Bismarck Fountain consists of a rectangular fountain basin with a stone structure at the rear. Its decorative pediment features a bronze relief portrait of Otto von Bismarck, beneath which is the inscription ‘Prince Bismarck’. The fountain was erected in 1894 to commemorate Bismarck’s visit to Jena in 1892 and was unveiled at the same spot where he had delivered his speech.
The fountain was completely renovated in 2008.
