(Exhibition Road side) SHACKLETON - Ernest Shackleton (Kilkea near Athy, Co. Kildare, Ireland 1874 - Grytviken, South Georgia 1922), polar explorer who led three British expeditions to the Antarctic (Wikipedia).

(Kensington Gore side) LIVINGSTONE - David Livingstone (Blantyre, South Lanarkshire 1813 - Chief Chitambo's Village, in present day Zambia 1873), Scottish Congregationalist pioneer medical missionary with the London Missionary Society and an explorer in Africa. (Wikipedia).
