Description

The City Art Gallery building was designed and constructed between 1824 and 1835 and housed originally the Royal Manchester Institution. It was designed by architect Sir Charles Barry in the Greek Ionic style. On either side of the entrance are three reliefs, to the left Sculpture, Architecture and Painting, and to the right
