Two allegorical female figures. The one on the left wears a castellated crown. In her right hand she holds
callipers and a mason's chisel. Her left hand rests on a shield bearing the device of a rearing horse. At her feet is a bust of a Greek-helmeted woman. The figure to the right wears a feathered head-dress. Her left hand rests upon an unstrung bow. She has a sheaf of arrows over her right shoulder. A small reptile (perhaps intended to be a cayman) stands on her right, its tail curled around to the back.
Because of these attributes, Cavanagh suggests that they represent Europe and America.
