Fortitude, Justice and Liberty

Description

Three statues on the pediment of the eastern portico of the Bank of Ireland, the former Irish Parliament building. They represent:

Dublin - Baile Átha Cliath - Fortitude, Justice and Liberty
Justice, with a sword.
Athena or Fortitude, with a spear, a shield and birds.
Liberty, holding a staff with a Phrygian cap.

The House of Lords entrance, which was part of an extension to the original building, was designed by the architect James Gandon between 1785 and 1789.
