Bronze bust modeled after Schaller's statue in Weimar.

Annotation

This was the first monument to a cultural icon in Riga. The bust was removed by the Soviets in an attempt to de-Germanize Riga. It was, however, returned in 1959 when Riga was visited by an official delegation from the German Democratic Republic (where Weimar is located).
