Description

Stele with a text flanked by two allegorical figure, the left representing 'the anxious Fatherland, confident in the dedication of its children (la Patrie anxieuse, mais confiante dans le dévouement de ses enfants; 'Helvetia; with the Swiss coat of arms), and the right 'the mourning of Lausanne (le deuil des Lausannois).
