Description

Head of Luther on a heart-shaped body. Lilies entwine the heart, symbolising innocence and purity. To the left is a a swearing hand with flames, testifying to the 'high energy of love'.
The remarkable statue had first been refused by the Evangelical Lutheran St Petri Church in Melle, where it was meant to commemoratie the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017. A year later it was placed almost opposite this church at the Catholic St Matthäus Church, where it was unveiled 28 June 2018.
