The artwork was commissioned by the evangelical hospita and should include an existing hospital figure in the form of a graphic. The result is a double figure in shades of green, depicting a patient with his helper. The sculptor took this graphic figure as a starting point for the development of this sculpture. He explains himsef: "You can see that the shape develops from the circle. The circle stands as a symbol of perfection, a form of well-being, of appealing. And from this round, from this calm, the 'runner' with its dynamism was created." The management of the hospital wanted this figure to attract attention as an eye-catcher. In addition to the basic color green, a whole palette of colors indicates the diversity of the hospital. In the Runner green is a symbol for growth, health and healing. This color also has a calming effect on the viewer. The cool gray-blue tones symbolize science and practice. The shades of red indicate the hospital staff's commitment to the patient's health.
