Bronze Doors with Trades and History of Norwich

Description

Three bronze doors with 18 sculptured roundels, those of the left and right doors depict the trades of the city of Norwich in the 1930s and those of the centre doors the city's history.
The depicted trades are:

Left door:
Norwich - Bronze Doors with Trades and History of Norwich
1. Bottling wine
2. Filling soda siphons
3. Building the rusticated base of City Hall

4. Vat for brewing beer
5. Manufacture of aeroplanes (propeller)
6. Manufacture of wire netting

Centre door:
Norwich - Bronze Doors with Trades and History of Norwich
7. Building the castle with a hand winch
8. Vikings
9. Silk winders, cobblers bench and wool comber

10. Old plough, silk winder and cobblers stand
11. Black Death, 1349
12. Thomas Kett hanged, 1549

Right door:

13. Piping chocolate (Woodford's identification on his preparatory drawing)
14. Soldering mustard tins on the production line
15. Horse and cow

16. Bull, pig and sheep (for the Cattle market)
