St. Michael's Church was built in 1973, designed by architect Pierce McKenna, after the preceding Gothic church burned down in 1965. Above the main entrance is a bronze casting of St. Michael defeating the dragon is mounted outside. The bronze doors combine a completely modern aesthetic with images influenced by the Book of Kells. The handles show the symbols of the Four Evangelists.
