King Laoghaire, High King of Ireland in the 5th century (Wikipedia).
St. Patrick, (Modern Irish: Pádraig) 5th-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Known as the 'Apostle of Ireland', he is the primary patron saint of the island.

Description

Nearly three meter tall Wicklow granite standing stone, triangular in cross section, carved with representations of King Laoghaire and St. Patrick on two sides, with a third side carved in bi-lingual bas relief script - to the right is this text are depictions of two fish, a bird and a seal. The wording is from is an anonymous 9th-century poem in Old Irish, translated in English by Tim O'Neill and Seamus Heaney.
The carving is by Ciaran Byrne.
The Stele is unveiled by President Michael D. Higgins on 6 May 2022.
