Description

Roman funeral monument for the family of the Concordi.

The monument includes a balustrade with angular parallelepiped pilasters. At the center stands the central stele containing the inscription and the portrait of the deceased, while at the two ends there are two cipps containing the mythical figure of Attis, topped by two stone vases. Attis is represented with the distinctive fridge cap and a torpedo torso, a funeral symbol. In the plinth supporting the stele we find finally sculpted hunting scenes, several marine animals and the allegorical representation of the four seasons.
